Alabama Lt. Governor debate October 30, 2006

I would have to rule the debate a toss up. Both Luther “Did I mention I’m tall and I played basketball?” Strange and Jim “I may be a Democrat, but I own shotguns” Folsom, Jr. are very good public speakers. Folsom in particular has a great speaking voice. They both answered the questions with a depth and breadth fitting of a ceremonial position in our state government.
My wife pointed out something that Strange said that would have gone unnoticed by me: his reference to his wife. I wonder if other women who were watching the debate also noticed that respectful gesture.
